Jem and the Holograms: Aja

This is a rough take on Aja based on some pitch designs I did for a Jem remake. Aja was my favourite growing up. She always felt a bit androgynous to me. I was convinced she was a lesbian, but maybe that's just because I have such a girl crush on her.

TCRG Roller Derby Poster

I should've posted this forever ago. I had the privilege to work with the TCRG's Cinder Hella and make promotional posters for my local derby team. Apparently this one was very well liked and I'm going to be making another one in the near future! Go roller girls!!

Who's The Bad Guy?

These are some cinematic boards I made for my storyboarding final last year. I've been hesitating to put these up for awhile. The story is based on a comic my sister and I have been developing for a long time and I'd never really shared a lot of the work I've been doing. I had all the dialogue memorized at the time so I've added basic captions to help it make more sense. I also spruced it up a little, but I realize some of the shots are a bit sloppy in several ways. It was a good learning experience at least.

I drew this last night in my new moleskin diary. Reetta was kind enough to purchase this for me for housesitting her kitty and I intend to draw one picture in it every day of the year! I started the first day off with a bang. Usagi for New Years!

I've been busier at work, but still have made time for lots of sketching and pinup girls--probably more than I ever expected. It's strange when drawing all day every day for a living actually inspires me to draw more than ever. Not that I'm complaining! :)

I'm so lazy about posting things. Here's my take on sailor moon, though in hindsight some of my original sketches were better.


These are also the more finished/polished versions I did; I spruced them up a little because the initial shading was rushed and my original idea was lost a bit. Also I am working at bardel as a storyboard revisionist and having loads of fun. Hopefully I'll post some sketches in the future!

Ugly Princess Rough Storyboards

I also uploaded a demo reel to youtube but I'd like to polish my work a bit more for gradshow. I forgot my cell phone when I went to school today so I sketched on the bus instead. So here's a new weekly sketch of Morrigan. There's a number of anatomical issues and morrigan's right arm looks broken but I like the pens I used. Pink and teal, go figure. Ugly Princess Revisited

I just decided last weekend to freshly update my Ugly Princess idea and added a new character. The girl on the left is the fat princess; she's kind of like Miss Piggy meets Charlotte from PATF, with a bit of ponyo inspiration for design. She knows kung fu and will kick your ass anyday, anytime.

The spooky faces in the bg are all the princesses they have yet to rescue. I've been having a lot of fun with this idea and hope that one day it'll be made into a show or at least a comic. Anyway, back to the grindstone!

Sailor Mars

I told you there were better posts to come. Sailor Mars is one of the best soldiers ever. All firey and red and IN YOUR FACE. Yeah. I'm glad I found time for this! I also made a tutorial about how I do linework. Be sure to check it out.

Been A Busy Bee

Bumper and Layouts

So since lots of people were wondering what my bumper would look like with sound, here it is. It is still in the rough stages(since 90% of it was done in the last two days haha), but I'd love to keep playing with it to see how it goes. And that crackling sound is supposed to be crickets!

The original idea I had for the bumper was scrapped, but I still have some of the finished/rough layouts.
