Sketch Dump

So I got a pack of two small moleskin sketchbooks. They were pricey, but so far I've found them to be just the right size for me. They're only 3.5" by 5.5" but I find it's easier to work in for several reasons: a, I don't feel obligated to make big art to fill the page and b, working at small, thumbnail-size proportions helps me keep my ideas intact. I sketched these at a coffee shop yesterday. I definitely intend to make this a weekly habit.

Sailor MMM Yeah

These two as well as my venus sketch and mercury sketch were featured on Sailor MMM, which is an awesome collective blog that showcases fanart of Sailor Moon by some very talented artists. Go check it out!

I know I said I'd post every week, but the workload's been getting more and more demanding. I might just have to hold off on Mars until December. These'll just have to tide you over until then. Also expect issue number one of Lapis by next Year!!

Love and Beauty Shock

I've totally been procrastinating by sketching sailor soldiers, I'm not gonna lie. I've been wanting to draw something like this for awhile, so I'm glad to get it out of my system. A few more will be posted soon. I think I'm going to do a Jem series too. I wish there was a more modern show of it today. Christy Marx, if you ever want to make a new Jem show, I would totally love to redesign them.

Anyway, back to the grindstone!

Quick Sketch/Life Drawing Dump

Some sketches I did at a coffee shop.






Some figure drawing of Bonny last week. We were supposed to egaggerate. I like drawing hair on all my girls. It's one of my favourite things.

I got a surprisingly good grade on this storyboard. I was worried that because of the tones in this one, I was going to be recieving a bad grade, but I got a 19/20 and a blue star! Pretty sweet!

Here's the FX stuff I did in TVPaint, or at least one of them. Britt might like this. Mermaid.

Weekly Sketches/Life Drawing Dump

So the model this week was terrible. So terrible in fact that I ended up doodling the whole time. I think it's apparent that I'm getting better at the mens.

These are some life draws last week of my classmates!
Megan, Lori, Terra, Chelsea and a drawing of the three going crazy at each other. Had trouble trying to use Moh's x-ray vision.



Dennis (I made you super buff haha) and colleen. Everyone had trouble with that pose.

These are some sketches related to my comic, Lapis. I've been changing/adding characters. That guy on the right has hair, not a hood. Anansi's butt isn't that creepy in reality.
